In a recent event at the inauguration of the new Mopa Police station, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant urged the residents of Pernem to consider applying for apprenticeship programs as a stepping stone towards securing future employment opportunities. He highlighted that participating in these programs would not only help individuals develop a strong connection with their chosen professions but also increase their chances of landing a job.
Addressing the importance of apprenticeships, the Chief Minister emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in skill development, benefiting both individuals and industries. However, during his speech, there was no specific mention made of the previously promised jobs for the local residents of Pernem, who had made significant sacrifices, including their land, for the construction of the Mopa airport.
CM Sawant’s encouragement to embrace apprenticeships comes as a potential avenue for skill enhancement and employment prospects, particularly for the residents of Pernem. Nevertheless, concerns about the implementation of the promised jobs for those affected by the airport project remain a pressing issue for the local community.
