BICHOLIM: Coming down heavily on the derogatory remark on Hindu Goddess at anti-CAA meeting at Azad Maidan, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant accused the Congress of trying to divide people on religious grounds in the State.
Speaking at a function at Navelim-Sanquelim, he said, “The person who passed derogatory comment on Hindu Goddess is a Congressman. He was sitting with them at Aazad Maidan during the anti-CAA meeting.”
“Goa is a land of Lord Parshuram and it is time that Ramakrishna Jalmi should be warned against passing comments against Gods and Goddesses. When doing politics on religion do you get Hindu Gods?” CM asked.
“Congress is such that they do not even spare Gods when it comes to politics. It is time that people should tell Congress that such politics on religious grounds under the banner of anti-CAA agitation will not be tolerated.” Dr Sawant told.
He accused the Congress of trying to divide people on religious grounds in the state.
“People should open their mouth and ask Congress, who came to their doorstep to make their stand clear over Lord Parshuram. There is no issue with the Congress and so they are now trying to divide people on religious grounds.”
