PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar promised the Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai that the work of widening of roads and reallocation of structures in Fatorda constituency would be completed latest by March 2015, though most of it would be ready by this December.
“Lots of small issues are there and one by one they will be sorted out,” Parrikar told Sardesai.
The Fatorda MLA wanted to know the present status of the work taken up by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation for widening of roads and reallocation of structures in his constituency and whether the work has started; and if so, stipulated the expected date of completion, date when work will actually be completed, delay if any and reasons for delay.
According to the chief minister, the widening of the road from the Collectorate junction to Fatorda stadium junction is complete and widening from Fatorda Junction to Agalli junction is in progress. The work of relocation of the structures also is in progress.
Also the though the stipulated date of completion was March 6, 2014 there was a delay due to hindrances caused due to sewage line, electricity poles, RMU, transformers, bad road alignment and issues with road widening.
