PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has directed all corporations to work on their respective vision documents as part of the overall goal of working towards becoming self-reliant.
He asked for measures to be initiated in this regard, while chairing a meeting with all the Head of Departments (HODs) of various Government Corporations at the Ministerial Block Secretariat Porvorim on Tuesday.
He reviewed the functioning of all these corporations and departments concerned and also inquired about the status of their vision document towards sustainability.
The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of every stakeholder of government establishments to see and ensure that the respective Department or Corporation is contributing to the progress of the State. “The Government has a broad vision of making Goa self-reliant, ” he said.
On that note, the CM advised them to “set their proper and clear vision goal, plan strategy and work and in the long run help their successor to follow”.
“Every corporation should aim and work to be self-reliant. Those Corporations who are implementing various Government schemes should strive to reach out to the people,” he added.
Furthermore, the CM urged the Corporations not to allow any sort of encroachment in their property and said that they should take control and maintain for the future.
The CM also listened to the various issues faced by the Corporations with respect to shortage of staff and funds etc.

Speaking to media persons post meeting, Sawant said that he had discussions with heads of various corporations about what is needed to be done for them to achieve their individual revenue targets. He further said this part of the State governments Swayamapurna Goa objective.
