PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday directed the officials and contractors to expedite the work on the ongoing work of NH-66 from Patradevi to Verna.
Sawant held a meeting with the officials of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Public Works Department and the contractors and reviewed the ongoing work of National Highway-66 from Patradevi to Verna.
The meeting held at the official residence of the chief minister at Altinho was also attended by PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and PWD Principal Chief Engineer U P Parsekar.
At the meeting, the chief minister directed the officials and contractors to expedite the ongoing work of NH-66 from Patradevi to Verna including the work of new bridge across Zuari River so as to complete the same by December, 2020 and throw it open for vehicular traffic.
The chief minister also directed the officials to ensure that the issues pertaining to land acquisition for the aforesaid works are redressed by end of January, 2020 so as to pave the way for expansion of NH-66 expeditiously.
