PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that around 500 teachers from across Goa who are enthusiastic about technology will be trained to impart Robotic and Coding education to school students from Std 6th onwards under the Chief Minister’s – Coding and Robotics Education in Schools Scheme that is part of the CM-cares scheme. Sawant was speaking at the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) function on the eve of World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) 2021.
Sawant explained experts in the field have trained 30 teachers in Goa as master trainers, who will now train the 500 teachers. He added that schools across Goa have been surveyed to check the availability of computer systems and that within the next 3 months; computer facilities will be equipped at government schools that presently do not have the same. State has imparted skill upgradation for 5000 youth under PMKVY.
On Thursday, WYSD 2021, the government is organising a placement fair for ITI students, which will have the participation of 165 companies, 1,355 ITI Trainee job seekers, 20 apprentices and 38 HRDF trainees. The Placement Fair will be conducted at 10 Government ITIs at 8 different locations.
