Bicholim: Mayem MLA Premendra Shet informed that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has given verbal approval to start a RORO ferry service on the most crucial waterways route of Madel Chorao to Ribandar.
“When I proposed the project to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, he instantly gave his verbal approval. The required official paperwork will be started soon,” said MLA Shet.
“Apart from discussing the potential RORO ferry service, I discussed with Minister of River Navigation Subhash Phal Dessai about resolving issues faced by the current ferryboat service in an important meeting. We noticed that since there is a shortage of staff on the ferryboats, sometimes the ferry service comes to a standstill if workers go on leave. He instantly approved the request to employ new skilled workers on the boat on a contract basis”, he added.
