CM: Govt spent 56 cr on elections

PANJIM: The State government incurred an expenditure of over Rs 56.53 crore for the Goa Assembly elections held in February this year, said CM Pramod Sawant on Tuesday. 

Giving the break-up, Sawant said that an amount of Rs 10,26,92,783 was spent on conduct of elections; Rs 5,28,88,315 was spent on printing of electoral rolls and other electoral stationery; Rs 11.50 crore was funds drawn by the DEO (North) on AC bills to meet contingent expenses, Rs 12 crore was funds drawn by DEO (South) on AC to meet contingent expenses; Rs 7 crore was funds drawn by police department on AC bills to meet contingent expenses, Rs 9 lakh was funds drawn by CEO office on AC bills to meet contingent expenses, Rs 90,000 and Rs 10,38,87,968 for hiring of vehicles.  He said that  Rs 41,45,63,654 was spent for 2017 polls.
