CM hails Cabral, reacts to ‘third class’ jibe

PANJIM: The Chief Ministers of Goa and Delhi were quick to congratulate their respective Power Ministers Nilesh Cabral and Satyendar Jain, who were part of a public debate, on Monday.

“My colleague and Goa’s Power Minister Shri Nilesh Cabral represented people of Goa today against politics of falsehood, lies and misleading propaganda. He busted the myth of freebies and how it makes people lose out in the long run. On the other hand, Government of Goa has struck a perfect balance between economic reforms and implementation of welfare measures,” Tweeted Goa Chief Minister and BJP leader Pramod Sawant.

“Excellent debate between the Delhi and Goa Power Ministers. Good for democracy. Nilesh Bab admitted that BJP failed to provide 24×7 electricity to Goans after so many years of rule. BJP also won’t provide free electricity. Satyender Jain promised free and uninterrupted power in Goa too, like Delhi,” Tweeted Delhi Chief Minster and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Arvind Kejriwal.

Later on Monday night , the CM tweeted again taking offence to Jain’s description of “third class” politicians in Goa. Cabral too had raised his objection to the way MLAs and politicians in Goa were being singled out. Jain had said Goans are first class citizens who deserve first class politicians.

“AAP has always indulged in cheap politics through constant protests and theatrics. But to say Goans are third class politicians is an insult to great sons-of-the-soil like Bhausaheb Bandodkar, Jack Sequeira, Manohar Bhai Parrikar, Rajendra Arlekar or Shripad Bhau Naik. AAP is free to create hype for their political benefits but to come to Goa and insult our leaders is unacceptable,” the CM tweeted.
