Goa Forward Party president and former Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and accused him of failing to keep up to his word on any of the issues pertaining to Goa and Goans.
Speaking on the Mhadei all-party delegation, he said “The Goa Forward Party participated as it did not want to show the people that the party was uncooperative.”
Vijai said that even 10 days after the all-party delegation met Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar nothing has happened. I knew that he (CM) will not keep up to his word. I was sure that any assurance on Mhadei or naphtha for that matter will not be kept.”
“The Chief Minister has gone back on his assurance made in the Assembly where he had assured that the Western Bypass would be built on stilts and with Government funds. He had inspected the place,” Vijai alleged.
“Goan people need not worry as the petition of Goa Forward Party will come up next week. It is the insurance of Goa. The Chief Minister and Government should have thanked us for this. On the contrary, the Chief Minister is speaking against the Goan forces that have united against the troubles of Goa,” Vijai charged.
