PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday hinted at extending the ongoing State-level curfew in the State beyond July 12, with further relaxation of restrictions.
Speaking to newsmen, Sawant said that the positivity rate is hovering around three to four per cent in additon to three to four persons succumbing to COVID-19 daily. “We will have to think of extending State-level curfew for a few more days,” he said, adding that the decision will be announced by Saturday.

The State is under curfew from May 9 and it has been extended five times in a bid to break the chain of Coronavirus.
Currently shops selling grocery and other essentials can remain open from 9 am to 6 pm and hotels and restaurants are allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity.
The government had cancelled events and marriages during the first 15 days of the curfew which has now been relaxed and marriages and other functions have been permitted with the approval of the District Magistrate for 100 people or 50 per cent of the hall capacity whichever is less.
However, schools, colleges, educational institutions, religious institutions, indoor sports complexes, auditoriums, gyms, spas, cinema halls and weekly markets continue to remain closed.
