CM holds interactive online session with Swayampurna Mitras

PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday held an interactive online session with Swayampurna Mitras appointed in the panchayats across the State as well as the panchas to review the work done under Atmanirbhar Bharat — Swayampurna Goa Scheme.

While the Swayampurna Mitras briefed the Chief Minister about the activities conducted by them in the villages, Sawant reiterated the importance of these activities and how it can transform not only these individual villages but the entire State in the long run.

The Chief Minister also listed out various recent developments carried out by the State government and urged the public to check the recently launched “Know Your Scheme” services under the “Goa Online” portal and avail the benefits.

He also announced that the Swayampurna Mitras and sarpanchas of the 10 best village panchayats will get the opportunity to speak with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September.

At this interactive session, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho explained to the Swayampurna Mitras and panchas about the benefits of granting house numbers to unauthorised structures and appealed to them to see that the locals who are in need get the required assistance.

Speaking to the media persons later on, the Chief Minister said, “The government has set a target of making Goa ‘Swayampurna’ and efforts are underway to make this successful. The government aims to see that all our schemes and policies reach the people at the grassroots level.”

He then gave the example of steps being taken to boost the industrial sector and to ensure that there is a conducive environment for the industrial sector by creating adequate infrastructure. Similarly, the government is working on creating a robust infrastructure for the IT sector.
