CM inaugurates flyover and Curti bypass

Sudin, Bandora Panchayat say flyover lacks safety measures; boycott function

PONDA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the flyover and Curti bypass, on Sunday. However, the inaugural function was boycotted by former PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar and Bandora Panchayat protesting that the flyover lacks safety measures like traffic signals at Safa Masjid junction.
Present at the function were PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar, Ponda MLA Ravi Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar, PMC Chairperson Venktesh Naik, Curti Sarpanch Dadi Naik, Vishwanath Dalvi and others.
On the occasion, the chief minister said that the National Highway as well as other infrastructure works undertaken from Cancona to Pernem will be completed soon. He said that the government is spending crores of rupees on management of garbage disposal and treatment; to avoid the burden, Goans should contribute in maintaining cleanliness.
He appealed the Muslims in Goa not to fear National Population Census as it is undertaken every ten year. “They should not confuse and fear over NPR, NCR and CAA and government would never deprive them from Indian citizenship,” he assured.
Ponda MLA Ravi Naik demanded that the approach road of Khandepar bridge, the pending work on sewerage be completed; hot-mixing of Ponda roads be taken on war footing as the residents are suffering due to the pending work.
PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar assured to widen the service road at Amigoes for smooth traffic. “The highway work is completed here and so an underpass will not be possible at this place,” he said. 
He said in the New Year four-lane widening from Anmod-Mollem to Khandepar will be undertaken and Wildlife Board had also approved the project at its recent meeting. He assured to complete Ponda sewerage and hot-mixing work from March to May.
