CM inaugurates hall named in honour of Parrikar at Sanjay School

MAPUSA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated Manohar Parrikar Memorial Hall at Sanjay School for special children, Porvorim on Wednesday.
Present on the occasion were Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo, Sanjay School Chairman Guruprasad Pawaskar, staff and the students.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sawant informed that national highway between Canacona and Mashem will be named after former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar.
He thanked the Management of Sanjay School for naming the hall after Parrikar. However, he appealed to people not to degrade name of Parrikar by naming things after him. 
“We cannot stop people from naming things after Parrikar in his memory, but I request the people not to give the name of Parrikar to any random thing or work and degrade his name.”
Talking on the Antyodaya Scheme, Dr Sawant said, “As we talk about the Antyodaya Scheme, we think about the last person. Similarly, we also think about the special children. It is proud to say that all over the country, Goa is the only State where 75 per cent of special children are enrolled in school and it is a target for the Social Welfare Department to make it 100 per cent for which the Social Welfare Department has to take steps.”
Chief Minister also assured the Management of Sanjay School that land allotted to Sanjay School will be handed over to Sanjay School as soon as possible and special institute will be opened up soon. He also said that the special disability cell will be opened up and in next eight days the formalities will be completed.
