BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday evening visited the Padocem water treatment plant to review the water supply problem.
During the visit it was found that water supply is disrupted due to old and outdated water pumps installed there. The chief minister also found that raw water is abundant in the plant; however, special attention was required to purify the same through the distribution system. Dr Sawant instructed the officials to install new additional pumps if the existing pumps cannot be repaired at the earliest.
Dr Sawant said that efforts are underway to provide water supply in the next two days. However, on Wednesday the taps were again running dry in Bicholim.
