CM is available to hear grievances: BJP

PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa has slammed certain groups for ‘intentionally’ creating chaos during public meetings.

BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said, “It was unacceptable that ‘people with vested interest’ fail to approach Chief Minister Pramod Sawant over issues and instead turn a peaceful public meeting chaotic.”

“One can decently speak if he/she has any issue or problem, rather than creating chaos. Take proper appointment with the CM and convey your grievance. CM is meeting the people. But some people want to gain media attention and intentionally disrupt meetings,” he said.

The party President was replying to a query by Herald over recent arrest of some members of Revolutionary Goans (RG) for disturbing an event in Shiroda where CM Sawant was addressing the public.

Tanavade said that while the government and the party are working in a transparent manner, groups like RG creating trouble should behave responsibly. “In the present time, it has become a fashion to create trouble (during public/political meeting). If some think they will win elections by behaving in this manner, they are wrong. Such attitude will not work,” he said.

The party has nevertheless said the opposition parties are not involved but groups such as RG are ‘intentionally’ resorting to these tactics.

The Revolutionary Goans is awaiting registration as a party had raised questions about poor road conditions in Shiroda and government jobs promised to the youth by BJP MLA Subhash Shirodkar.
