CM lays foundation stone for Rs 3.6 crore Krishi Bhavan at Chaudi

Canacona: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on Friday, unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of the foundation stone of Krishi Bhavan costing Rs3.6 crore at Chaudi at Canacona in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister ChandrakantKavlekar and Deputy Speaker and local MLA Isidore Fernandes.

The building will house Zonal Agricultural office and a dedicated place for the local farmers to sell their locally grown produce apart from a training-cum-conference hall.

While mentioning that the signature project is to be completed and commissioned in one and half year, Sawant said this complex will also house the Animal Husbandry dept apart from agricultural office.

“Training and skill development will also be imparted for anyone intending to undergo the training for all round skill development so that farmers generate a minimum of Rs 3 lakh income every year,” he added.

“Looking at the difficulties faced by dairy farmers we directed the department to issue krishi cards to them. Now they can also avail an interest-free loan of Rs 1.6 lakh,” said Sawant.
