PANJIM: Just ahead of the Union Budget, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, who is on a visit to New Delhi, met Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman.
“I discussed various issues pertaining to the State of Goa,” informed Chief Minister Sawant.
The Union Budget is to be presented on February 1. Sources in the government said that the Chief Minister has impressed upon the Finance Minister for a special package for Goa of around Rs 3,000 crore.
“Goa has faced huge losses due to mining ban and tourism shortfall,” sources added.
The Chief Minister was in New Delhi on Monday to participate in the BJP national president elections.
