PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and six Union Ministers in Delhi after they took oath as members of the 18th Lok Sabha.
Sawant said he has sought guidance and support from the Prime Minister to build a Viksit Goa under the ambitious vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Sawant along with Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira met Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, where they discussed several critical issues concerning the State, including the ESA notification, sand mining, ore transportation, and the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) for the State.
Sawant also met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and invited him to inaugurate the six-lane Link Road connecting National Highway 66 to Manohar International Airport, Mopa, and to lay the foundation stone for the four-lane connectivity road from MES College Junction to Bogmalo Junction.
The Chief Minister said that he discussed various issues related to hosting the 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 with Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Sawant also met BJP national president Union Health Minister J P Nadda and Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Chauhan.
Late in the evening, Sawant called on Union Minister for Home Affairs and Co-operation Amit Shah, and congratulated him on assuming charge and extended his best wishes.
Sawant expressed his pleasure to have received assurance of continued support and guidance from the Union Home Minister.
