PANJIM: Automated unmanned electric cars ferrying passengers might become a reality in Goa soon.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar during his personal visit to Heathrow airport came across these unmanned electric cars with the capacity to carry between six to ten passengers at a time.
Right now it is just an idea, Parrikar told Herald, adding that the possibility can be worked out to introduce such cars in Goa for the short distances like Panjim to Old Goa.
The cars which completely operate on battery do 40 km per hour and can go upto 10 kms. “When parked, the car automatically gets charged. There are laser sensors on the side so that the car does not collide,” the chief minister said.
