PANJIM: Newly-elected BJP’s Member of Parliament (MPs) Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar along with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will be leaving for Delhi on Monday to attend party’s parliamentary board meet to be held on May 20 to formally elect Narendra Modi as its leader.
With no other agenda on mind, the leaders would be attending the meet to elect Modi as Prime Minister.
Speaking to Herald, Sawaikar confirmed that he, Naik and Parrikar would be attending the meeting of the parliamentary board, the highest decision-making body of the party.
The first BJP parliamentary board meeting held the very next day after party’s historic victory at the Lok Sabha polls has thanked Modi for leading a successful campaign. Narendrabhai gave a vision to our campaign, the parliamentary board has praised that, Sawaikar said.
“May 20 meeting is just a formality before Modiji’s anointment as the country’s Prime Minister,” he said.
BJP-led NDA won the Lok Sabha elections by inflicting a humiliating defeat on the Congress-led UPA who were reduced to double digit.
