CM mute on show cause notices, passes the buck on ITG
HERALD REPORTER
PANJIM, DEC 14
Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today tried to distance himself from the show-cause notices issued by the Info-Tech Corporation of Goa (ITG) to the 17 promoters at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat at Dona Paula.
Speaking to Herald on the sidelines of a press conference Kamat preferred to remain silent on the issued and passed the buck on the ITG.
“Please ask the ITG chairman Subhash Shirodkar on the issue, I have no knowledge,” he said.
The IT habitat was kept on hold by the government following violent protests by the villagers of Taleigao, who were with their legislator Atanasio Monserrate.
Shirodkar told Herald on Monday that the project was never on hold and there was nothing on paper.
When asked to comment on Shirodkar’s statement, Kamat said “If he has said so, you please ask him to clarify as he is the chairman and I don’t want to comment on the issue.” The ITG has issued notices to the 17 promoters seeking an explanation as to why their contracts should not be terminated in view of their failure to complete the construction within the stipulated period of two years.
