PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the State Legislative Assembly will ratify the Women’s Reservation Bill, during its next session, as there were no directions from the Centre as of now to get it ratified urgently.
Since both Houses of Parliament have passed the bill, to reserve 33% seats for women in the LS and Legislative Assemblies, it was required that at least 50 per cent of the Assemblies ratify the bill for it to hold good. “When we have our own sessions we will ratify the bill and send it,” Sawant said.
