Inaugurating the office in the presence of MLAs Vijai Sardesai, Caitu Silva and Benjamin D’Silva, the Chief Minister said the South Goa district office will be headed by an officer of the rank of Additional Director. “It will take two months to set up the office properly and another six months to make it fully functional,” Parrikar said, while disclosing plans to upgrade the zonal agricultural offices in Sanguem and Sattari.
Replying to a question, he said that farmers need not come to the district agriculture office once the Krishi Card scheme becomes fully operational from April 1.
The Chief Minister also assured South Goa Zilla Panchayat Chairperson Nelly Rodrigues that the government will allot space for the Zilla Panchayat in the Old Collectorate building after Diwali.
