PANJIM: Taking serious note of rising crimes in the state, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant directed the Goa Police to crack down on anti-social elements in the State and to take tough action against them.
Chairing a high-level meeting of top police officers, the Chief Minister directed them to further strengthen the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) police station in the State. Senior officials of State administration including Chief Secretary, Advocate General Devidas Pangam, both District Collectors, and senior police officials were present.
The meeting is learned to have discussed the recent shooting incident wherein a worker employed in illegal sand mining was shot dead and another critically injured, the killing of BJP leader Sonali Phogat and the murder of Assagao youth in the coastal State ahead of tourist season.
The Chief Minister also discussed and deliberated on various issues, states a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
