PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday participated in the Dandi March yatra in Gujarat and paid rich tributes to heroes of India’s independence movement.
Sawant joined the yatra from Chhaparabhatha to Udhna in Surat District of Gujarat, on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
“On behalf of the people of Goa, paid tributes to the heroes of India’s Independence Movement by joining the #DandiMarchYatra on the occasion of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav at Surat in Gujarat,” Sawant posted on his twitter handle.
In another tweet, the Chief Minister paid tribute to freedom fighter Dr T B Cunha, who is popularly known as “Father of Goan Nationalism”.
“Humble tributes to the great freedom fighter and the Father of Goan Nationalism Dr T B Cunha on his birth anniversary. His patriotism and sacrifice will continue to inspire generations of Goans,” Sawant said.
