PANJIM: Goa government has proposed to make compulsory the last Saturday of every month as a working day as a part of the Swacch Bharat Nitol Goem Mission.
Speaking to reporters Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the officers can utilise this Saturday to clear the pending work and clean the office.
“We will get the views of all the departments and only then we will implement it. We hope to take a decision within months,” the chief minister said.
He said that no government takes such decisions when elections are close by but his government has just proposed it and will wait to see the response of the officers and employees.
“I appeal to the people to react to the proposal and take it in the positive way,” Parsekar said.
