PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Tuesday met Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to New Delhi and discussed the progress of various ongoing National Highway projects in the State.
During the course of discussions the Chief Minister conveyed the apprehensions of the people regarding the highway expansion at Anmod Ghat and sought his intervention for early completion of ongoing Sada-Varanapuri highway works.
Goa BJP president Sadanand Shet Tanavade was also present at the meeting.
The Chief Minister also had discussions with Railways and Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal during his visit to New Delhi.
The CM had a healthy interaction on availing assistance for further deve- lopment of modern infrastructure in Goa with NABARD chairman Chintala.
He also met and discussed with Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday and conveyed the sentiments of the people of Goa regarding coal handling. Mandaviya assured to look into the matter.
