Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant highlighted various government initiatives aimed at supporting women, strengthening livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities across the state.
Speaking about women-centric welfare measures, Sawant said ₹950 crore has been disbursed under the Griha Aadhar scheme, while around ₹350 crore has been provided as marriage assistance through women-focused initiatives.

The Chief Minister also emphasised the role of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in ensuring that financial assistance reaches beneficiaries directly through their bank accounts, helping streamline the delivery of government welfare benefits.
Sawant further highlighted skill development opportunities being provided through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), along with support for self-help groups to encourage entrepreneurship and livelihood generation.
He also pointed to investments in infrastructure as part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen development and create greater economic opportunities for people across Goa.
The initiatives, he said, are aimed at combining social welfare with skill development, financial support and economic empowerment.
