CM Sawant leaves for Delhi

PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant left on a two-day trip to New Delhi during which he is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah.
According to the information from the Chief Minister’s office, Sawant left for New Delhi on Thursday afternoon around 1.30 pm. “He would be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and later BJP President Amit Shah”, an official informed.
It is Sawant’s first visit to New Delhi after taking over the reigns of the State in the wee hours of Tuesday, when he was sworn in as the chief minister along with 11 ministers.
Sawant will also be part of the decision making in the selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls and the by-polls to the three Assembly constituencies already announced to be held on April 23.
