PORVORIM: In a significant move, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured members of the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday that the long-standing boundary dispute between Tuem village panchayat and Pernem Municipal Council will be resolved.

The issue was brought to the attention of the House through a calling attention motion by Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar. Furthermore, the ongoing dispute has also impacted revenue collection for both governing bodies.

In response to the motion, Chief Minister Sawant expressed his commitment to find a resolution. He stated, “To resolve the dispute, we need to bring together all the concerned stakeholders, including the Revenue Department, Tuem village panchayat, and Pernem Municipal Council, and engage in discussions. I will hold a meeting with them and ensure a resolution is reached by August 10, 2023.”
