PANJIM: Reacting to allegations made by Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has rejected the claim saying he has not met Kapil Jhaveri on his birthday.
“In continuation with the press note dated August 17 2020 by this office, wherein it was stated that the photograph of CM Pramod Sawant with Kapil Jhaveri was taken during a courtesy call by the Bollywood Actor. It has come to light that MLA Rohan Khaunte has in a press conference stated that the said call on took place on April 24 2020, on the birthday of the CM,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a release issued on Tuesday.
Further, the CMO added that that their office refutes that the meeting took place on April 24 2020 as the same picture was cropped and also posted on social media by Jhaveri on an earlier date i.e: January 2 2020, the proof of which they enclosed.
“This proves that the said photograph has been posted several times on different dates. The MLA is requested to verify his statement if true or otherwise,” the CM’s said.
