CM says he’ll sack ‘anyone’ if he gets a complaint regarding the sex scandal controversy

But opposition sayTeam Heralds he’s protecting the minister

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday claimed that he will sack the person involved in the alleged sex scandal if the victim complains or if anyone with evidence comes forward and complains about the case.

“I will sack anyone. I am firm on it,” Sawant said, reacting to allegations made by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar that a Cabinet Minister in the BJP government was involved in a sex scandal.

When it was brought to his notice that Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida had also corroborated the allegations, Sawant said, “Women have rights in this State. Let the woman complain and let it be proved. Even if the woman files a complaint, being a Home Minister I will initiate a thorough inquiry,” he said and added that the accusations are politically motivated.

But the opposition is least impressed.

“It appears that BJP has decided to protect the concerned minister and hence CM said that until the victim woman files a complaint he won’t take action. Our party leader therefore will hold a press conference tomorrow in reply,” a senior Congress leader told Herald.

Meanwhile, even though the State BJP government is yet to take action against the concerned minister allegedly involved in the sex scandal, there are news reports by some online media naming a minister. The report claims that the reporter has spoken to the victim woman and she has made several allegations against the minister, though the same has not been verified.

It is not clear that the woman interviewed in that story has allegedly made complaint or not, however, in that report she has alleged that while she was going to lodge her complaint she was picked up by the goons of the Minister.
