PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday categorically said that the Goa Taxi App will definitely start from Mopa airport soon.

Sawant chaired a meeting with Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte to review the progress of the app services pitched by the government.

After the meeting, Sawant said, “Starting the Goa taxi app is an overall decision of the government mainly to get technology driven app in the State. It is planned for the taxi owners and they will not face losses”.

“When we are starting an international airport at Mopa, we will definitely start taxi operations through the Goa Taxi App and won’t accept `dadagiri’ of a few,” he warned.

He also reassured that the Goa taxi app will operate on the basis of the government prescribed fares adding that taxi operators will not suffer losses.

Godinho informed that the Goa taxi app will be brought before the next Cabinet meeting shortly. “More welfare schemes for the drivers, more features to the app have been discussed and approved,” he said.
