PANJIM: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar addressing the press after presenting the budget said he was confident of achieving 85 per cent of his budget target even though he was falling short by Rs 200 odd crore revenue.
The capital expenditure for 2012-13 was Rs 2,100.19 crore of which this government paid Rs 860 crore, he said adding that this was the first time the Goa budget had crossed the five digit figure.
“The total amount (allocated) for schemes is Rs 650 crore,” he said adding that he had not taken into consideration any income from mining even though he would surely get Rs 100 crore from minor minerals.
Saying that the thrust areas of this budget are employment and infrastructure, the chief minister explained, “We took loan only to pay the capital (expenditure) of earlier government,” he said, adding that additional mobilization of resources is of Rs 666 crore with Rs 100 crore from TCP,” the chief minister said.
CM short on revenue, but still confident
