CM stresses on education

PORVORIM: The Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar stated that education is the key to success and hence every student should work hard to secure good marks in studies for ascending to a higher economic and social status in life.

Parents should not impose their wishes on their children. Instead they should give free hand to their children to choose the career of their choice. It is not necessary that every child should become a doctor, engineer or lawyer in life. Even if a student desires to become a teacher he should be encouraged, said Parsekar. He was speaking at Porvorim after felicitating the students who passed the SSC examination of Goa Board with distinction. The programe was organized by Porvorim BJP Mandal.
The educationist Dilip Betkiker thanked the state government for discontinuing the scheme of distributing tablets to the students. He mentioned that there are instances of the students residing in huts also have passed exams in flying colours.
“What is required is zeal and determination to succeed in life,” said Betkiker
