PANJIM: The war of words between Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo and Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza has reached the doors of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who has summoned both on Tuesday.
BJP General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawde confirmed to Herald that the chief minister has asked both BJP leaders to meet him on Tuesday.
Lobo, the Calangute MLA, had recently burst out at the minister and party’s senior functionary for waterlogging/floods in Mapusa town.
In retaliation, D’Souza had taken a pot shot at Lobo calling the latter greedy for a portfolio. He also questioned that if he was inefficient then why had Lobo backed him for the chief ministerial post in 2014. The Mapusa MLA also hinted at some more BJP leaders being behind Lobo’s outburst against him.
Lobo sought to know on why his senior colleague has not been giving his constituency due attention, to which D’Souza argued that the water logging problem is not limited to a single place.
BJP will also hold a meeting with both leaders on Wednesday. Party President Vinay Tendulkar said they have been called to iron out differences between them, however, all this will be decided after the crucial meet with the chief minister.
