VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant during the release of the manifesto of the BJP-backed panel on Thursday in Vasco expressed confidence that alike during Zilla Panchayat election, people will choose his party-backed candidates in five municipalities where the polls are due.

“During upcoming municipal elections which will take place in five municipalities, BJP-backed candidates should and will win with the people’s support,” said CM.

He further assured that under the Swayanpurna Goa several developmental works will be taken up. “Salary issue of the municipality workers will be sorted out,” he said

Later, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida too claimed that in Mormugao municipal area the candidates fielded by BJP will emerge victorious in the municipal election. “We all three MLA’s from Vasco, Dabolim and Mormugao constituency are united and the opposition is simply giving misinformation about the differences among us,” he said

He further claimed that several projects such as fish market, renovation work of the municipality building is happening and will soon be completed.
