PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Monday appeared unaware that the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits occurred during the V P Singh government, backed by the BJP and not during the Congress government.
After both, Sawant and Tanavade blamed the Congress Party for the atrocities on the Hindu community in the Kashmir valley in January 1990, media brought to their notice that the incident happened during the then Prime Minister V P Singh government, which was supported by the BJP.
