CM tests positive for COVID-19, is asymptomatic

Opts for home isolation

PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19 and has opted for home isolation as he is asymptomatic.

The chief minister announced the development on his social media handles saying “I wish to inform all that I have been detected COVID19 positive.”

He added that he is asymptomatic and hence has opted for home isolation. “I shall continue to discharge my duties working from home. Those who have come in my close contact are advised to take the necessary precautions,” Sawant stated.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s Office said that since the CM has been detected COVID-19 positive, it has been decided that all the officials of Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) who have come in contact with the CM will work from home.

“People are hereby informed that all regular operations of CMO shall continue un-hindered. It may be noted that all appointments and meetings scheduled stand suspended till further notice,” the statement said.
