CM to chair Secretaries meet on Thursday

All the Secretaries to Government have been asked to submit action plans of their respective departments by Wednesday, April 7, and come prepared with the details for the meeting

PANJIM: A meeting of all Secretaries to Government has been convened under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the Minister’s Block conference Hall, Porvorim, on Thursday, April 8, at 11 am, to finalise the action plan on implementation of Budget assurances for the year 2021-22.

All the Secretaries to Government have been asked to submit action plans of their respective departments by Wednesday, April 7, and come prepared with the details for the Thursday meeting.

Discussion on action plan for establishing proposed Goa State Mining Corporation, MLA Local Area Development Scheme, tallest state-of-the-art building and State Museum building at Patto-Panjim, maintenance of the Goa Assembly Complex, construction of new building for Goa Police Headquarters, dovetailing of State and Central government schemes, CM Fellowship Programme, streamlining process of construction and trade licence at municipal and panchayat levels, recognition of unauthorised old dwelling houses by changing law, rationalising water tariffs and completion of household toilets are some of the items on the agenda of the meeting. 

The meeting will also review the action taken on the minutes of the meeting held last month and discuss action plan for implementation of Budget assurances department-wise. 

Besides, Secretaries to Government, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, PWD Principal Chief Engineer, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (GSIDC) Managing Director, Mines and Geology Director, Water Resources Chief Engineer, Industries, Trade and Commerce Director, Investment Promotion Board (IPB) Chief Executive Officer and Civil Aviation Director will also attend the meeting.   

Some of the departments have been given targets to complete the ongoing projects. The GSIDC has been given target to complete the works and to inaugurate the South Goa District Hospital, Margao on April 21, while it has been asked to complete the construction of AYUSH Hospital at Pernem by December this year and to complete the work of New District Court Building at Merces by December next year.
