A meeting to be chaired by Parrikar, who is State education minister, will be attended by MLAs Rohan Khaunte and Vijai Sardessai, officials of education department, Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan, parents, NGOs and other stakeholders.
Sources at the Secretariat, confirmed that a meeting was scheduled saying, ‘joint meeting has basically been called as it was observed that most of the schools run for special children have similar problems –may be administrative or infrastructural’.
The issue was discussed in the recently held State Legislative Assembly session, when independent MLas Khaunte and Sardesai expressed their concern over the condition of children, especially considering the fact that the State has lack of experts and infrastructure while working for the welfare of these special children.
Applauding their initiative Chief Minister had promised to hold meeting of all stakeholders after Ganesh festival to discuss on the issue.
