PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will on Monday decide whether Health Department should adopt Gujarat’s hybrid model of health insurance scheme for implementation of the Deen Dayal Sawasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), wherein part of the payment is made through insurance and rest through trusts.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said the department is keen to adopt the trust mode of payment in the insurance scheme as it is more beneficial to the State. “We have been asked to make presentation on the hybrid model where partial payment is done through trust. Chief Minister will take a final call on it,” Rane said.
He said that till August, DDSSY will continue through the existing agency TPA and the amounts would be reimbursed to the hospitals on a weekly and fortnightly basis.
Health Department has also blacklisted Goa Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Ltd from empanelment under DDSSY for failing to dispense medicines to card holders.
Rane said that it was found that GAPL has stopped dispensing medicines. “We had issued them show cause notice but they failed to give us a satisfactory reply,” he stated.
