MARGAO: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco vide a letter has drawn the attention of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to the delay in commissioning the South Goa District Hospital at Margao whose foundation stone was laid more than a decade ago on December 30, 2008 when the Congress was ruling the State.
He pointed out that the building was to be constructed by 2012 and since the BJP came to power in 2012, the completion of the hospital has been languishing even though the BJP had three different chief ministers.
He said lack of planning is the reason for the waste of time in completing this most awaited hospital in South Goa and said if the party was serious, then, the hospital would have been completed long back like how the third bridge across Mandovi river was commissioned recently even though the foundation was laid in 2014.
Pointing out that the chief minister is a medical practitioner, Reginaldo appealed to him to complete this project at the earliest as it is aimed at providing health care facilities to the common man.
