CM urges people to vote for BJP to fulfil Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ dream

Alleges the Congress did nothing for the benefit of common man

CUNCOLIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant sought to know how many schemes were launched for ordinary Indians by the family that held the Prime Minister’s Office for four generations.

Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo in Cuncolim constituency on Tuesday, Sawant urged people to be wary of the Congress and vote for the BJP to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a ‘Viksit Bharat.’

Sawant informed about various schemes implemented by the BJP government both at the Centre and in the State. He alleged that the Congress Party had done nothing for the benefit of the common man and that its leaders in the State worked only for the benefit of leaders in Delhi.

The Chief Minister said that Congress candidate from South Goa, Capt Viriato Fernandes had insulted women by saying that he is rejecting the candidature of Pallavi. By saying that the Constitution was forced upon Goans, Capt Viriato had insulted the Constitution and its architect Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. A person who insults women and the Constitution should not get a single vote from Cuncolim, Sawant appealed to people.

BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo said that no matter what field women are in, they work with full dedication. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the due respect for women. Voting for the BJP is supporting  Modi’s dream of a developed India, she said.

“I am the daughter of South Goa; Assolna is my native village. Cuncolim is like my house.  I am getting a good response here,” Pallavi said.

Pallavi addressed party workers at Gudi-Paroda panchayat area, at Ambaulim panchayat and later at Cuncolim municipality area.

Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai, former Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar, former Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias, Nagaland MP Phangnon Konyak, BJP’s Cuncolim vistarak Machhindra Desai, Mandal president Maruti Desai and others also spoke.
