Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged the Verna Industries Association (VIA) to share a list of job vacancies with surrounding village panchayats in order to provide employment opportunities to local residents.
Speaking as the chief guest at the 24th annual general meeting of the VIA at Kesarval, Verna, on Friday, Sawant said the Association can submit a six-month list of vacancies to five nearby panchayats. These panchayats, he suggested, should then take responsibility for supplying the required manpower from their respective villages to the industries.

The Chief Minister further encouraged industries to share their manpower requirements for the next five years, stating that this would help students of classes X and XII make informed career choices.
Industries, he added, could list around 200 vacancies across roles such as ITI graduates, engineers, secretaries, and others, giving locals a fair chance to apply.
“This will not only help provide jobs but will also build confidence and strengthen ties between industries and village communities,” Sawant said.
hello world innovation park proposed
Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho revealed that the State government is contemplating setting up a ‘Hello World Innovation & Research Park’ at the Verna Industrial Estate. The park would be designed for technology-based companies and R&D firms.
Godinho noted that a significant amount of land is available at the Verna IDC and will be auctioned to interested companies and entrepreneurs.
