PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday asked the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) officials to undertake projects outsourced by Government of India undertakings in the State.
After chairing the meeting, Sawant said that projects undertaken by the Central government undertakings in Goa such as Indian Railways, Indian Navy, Shipyard, Ports etc are outsourced to PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) by the Government of India. GSIDC being Goa government’s PSU can take up these projects, he said adding that he has given them the idea and necessary instructions to follow such model.
“Our efforts are towards revising and reducing loans and making every government department self-sustaining. GTDC, EDC, GSIDC etc., have been oriented in this direction and officers have been asked to devised ways to make them self-reliant,” said Sawant, who is also the GSIDC chairman.
