“We have not accepted the report as both the parties (pro and anti) had raised objection to the inquiry officer. They had cast aspersions on him. So how can we accept such an inquiry report,” D’Souza told media persons. “It is for the CM (Laxmikant Parsekar) to decide whether a fresh inquiry should be conducted,” he added.
D’Souza refused to comment on why the government continued with the Jacques committee if there was opposition. “That Chief Minister should answer,” he quipped.
Parsekar had earlier announced that he would go ahead with the Tiracol Golf Course and Villa project, as it would generate employment to locals.
The inquiry had concluded that the land in question was agricultural, but on the question of tenancy, the report says it would not be appropriate to conclude the tenancy aspect, as it is sub-judice.
