CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) vice chairperson Shashank Dessai on Monday filed a police complaint against three persons namely Saikunj Dessai, Vijay Prabhu and Gurudas Borkar for abusing him and other council members by barging into the Cuncolim Municipal Council office.
Dessai in his complaint stated that when he questioned the trio they charged at him and pushed. Cuncolim Municipal CouncilChairperson Lavita Mascarenhas and councillor Videsh Dessai, who were in chairperson’s Chamber immediately rushed to the gallery but by that time the accused escaped.
At an emergency meeting the councillors condemned the act and demanded immediate arrest of all three accused.
Meanwhile, Gurudas Borkar filed counter complaint with the Cuncolim police stating that he was assaulted by vice chairperson for lodging a complaint against an illegal structure.
Acting upon Borkar’s complaint, police arrested the vice chairperson who was later released on bail.
Cuncolim police are investigating the case.
