CUNCOLIM: Angela Paiginkar was elected as the new Chairperson of Cuncolim Municipal Council.
Angela defeated former Chairperson Lavita Mascarenhas by 8-2 Votes.
Eight Councilors voted in support of Angela while two Councilors voted for Lavita. Two councilors remained absent for elections.
It may recalled that Lavita was removed from the chairperson’s post by a no-confidence motion.
After taking charge as the Chairperson Mascarenhas told media persons that her first priority will be to complete the incomplete development works. Besides she said with the help of local MLA Clafacio Dias she will come out with some new projects. My priority will be to complete the commercial project at Cuncolim market and one at Talebhat and said both projects will be ready by December.
